Henry Asante Twum, the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) director of communications, has said that the football organization paid for Milovan Rajevac’s compensation after he was fired as head coach of the Black Stars.
In an interview with Joy FM, he stated that the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is uncertain following the German tactician’s disastrous 2025 AFCON campaign, in which the team lost six games without a victory.
Ghana’s Black Stars will not be able to compete in the tournament in Morocco next year after finishing last in Group F and missing out on AFCON qualification for the first time in 20 years.
“When Milo [Milovan Rajevac] was fired, it became an issue because he didn’t have time to waste, so he went to FIFA. FIFA ruled in Milo’s favour, and we had to pay over $100,000. It was about $117,000 or so. Despite several pleas, the Ministry wasn’t forthcoming, so the FA had to settle the amount.”
Rajevac coached Ghana at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, but he was fired following the competition, which saw the Black Stars lose to low-ranked Comoros and earn just one point, causing them to be eliminated in the group stage.
