Maya Blu, a budding musician, has expressed her profound shock at the decision to split from her record label, Lynx Entertainment.
The development was sudden, and Maya Blue did not want to go into details, but stressed that she holds no grudge against the label. “This is their label and they can make decisions as they see fit,” she told Graphic Showbiz in an exclusive interview on Monday, November 25, 2024.
The Good Girl No Day Pay singer stressed that her departure from the label was unexpected, as she maintains a good relationship with management and there were no indications that such a move was necessary. “My departure from Linx was a big shock, as there were no disagreements or leads. But I’m cool. I have nothing against her decision to let me go. We’ve come to an agreement and I will accept it in good faith if we have to separate,” she said.
Her comments come after unconfirmed reports that one of Ghana’s leading record labels, Lynx Entertainment, has fired some of its newly signed members, including Maya Blue, Saint Lennon and Kasar Music, who were among the label’s new talents dubbed “BDSM.” Last year, they released a joint EP, Coming Soon.
Having steadily built her presence in the Ghanaian music industry, Maya Blue admitted that she was reluctant to let go, especially as she believed she was progressing under the label’s management. When asked what she has been doing since being fired from Lynx Entertainment, Maya Blue revealed that she is taking her time to pursue new avenues.
She hinted at an ongoing project, expressing her determination to continue her artistic journey while waiting for the right opportunity.
“Currently, I am working on a new project and will push it forward until I get a good offer. I’m not in a hurry, so I’m just going to relax and take it easy here. “I’m recording some songs and hope to have something good soon,” she added. Founded about 15 years ago by Richie Mensah, Lynx Entertainment is one of Ghana’s leading record labels and has played host to some of Ghana’s biggest music artists, including Asem, Eazzy, MzVee, KiDi and Kuami Eugene.
