Nestlé Ghana Limited, through its Maggi brand, has partnered with the Gold Coast Restaurant and Cocktail Bar to organize the December edition of the Fufu Festival in Accra.
The event, which took place during the festive season, aimed to bring people together to celebrate and enjoy traditional Ghanaian dishes, particularly fufu with various soups and proteins, while highlighting the enriched taste of Maggi.
According to Deborah Kwablah, Corporate Communications Manager at Nestlé, fufu was chosen as the main dish for the event because of its widespread popularity across the country.
“Fufu is a special meal for almost everyone, regardless of their background, so we decided to celebrate the festive season with a Fufu Festival featuring Maggi,” she explained.
The event featured a range of traditional delicacies, including Omotuo, Kokonte, and Banku, as well as live band performances and engaging games. Winners of the games received prizes, including Maggi products.
Ms. Kwablah acknowledged the challenges faced by businesses during the year but noted that Nestlé had a successful and dynamic year.
She emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability, citing initiatives such as waste collection, renewable electricity, and wastewater treatment.
“We will continue to intensify our sustainability efforts in the coming year,” she said.
Ms. Kwablah also advised Ghanaians to prioritize their safety during the festive season and encouraged the use of Maggi in cooking various dishes at home.
Magherita Amon, Category Development Executive at Nestlé, added that the event served as a platform to educate attendees about the ingredients used in Maggi, the various brands available in the market, and their nutritional value.
“We want to promote the rich culinary heritage of Ghana while showcasing the quality and versatility of Maggi,” she said
