President-elect John Dramani Mahama is hitting the ground running, pledging to dedicate his leadership to fostering unity, development, and opportunities for all Ghanaians.
During a courtesy call on the Yegbonwura, the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the country’s pressing challenges, particularly the economic crisis and hardships faced by citizens.
Mahama acknowledged the significant role traditional leaders played in his election victory, expressing gratitude for their prayers and support.
He emphasized the importance of their partnership in Ghana’s progress, saying “I am home… It is with his prayers that we have achieved this success.”
The President-elect also recognized the contributions of chiefs, imams, and all Ghanaians, appealing for continued collaboration to address the country’s challenges.
Mahama underscored the enormity of the task ahead, stating that “our economy is in crisis; there is hardship in the land.”
He emphasized the need to work hard to turn the country’s fortunes around and create prosperity and dignity for all Ghanaians.
To achieve this, Mahama prayed for wisdom to choose the right people to help create economic prosperity, noting that “I cannot handle the country alone.”
The President-elect also highlighted the importance of unity and inclusivity, describing his electoral victory as a success not only for himself and his party but for all Ghanaians.
He urged all stakeholders to rally together in building a peaceful and prosperous Ghana, expressing optimism for the nation’s future under his leadership.
