The statue of COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), has been vandalized in a shocking incident at the EOCO premises.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 11:30 AM when unidentified individuals entered the premises and defaced the statue. Despite the presence of two security officers, the vandals were able to carry out their act without being apprehended.
The statue, which was unveiled in October last year, has been a subject of controversy, with many questioning the decision to honor the EOCO boss in such a manner.
The surrounding area, named “Obaatanpa Tiwaa Gardens,” was also dedicated to her, sparking debates about the appropriateness of the tribute.
The incident has raised concerns about the security of the EOCO premises and the potential for further vandalism or attacks.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing security footage to identify the perpetrators.
EOCO officials have declined to comment on the incident, but sources say that the agency is taking steps to increase security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
