Musician and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, is demanding updates on the murder investigation of journalist Ahmed Suale, who was killed in 2019.
In a recent Facebook post, A Plus expressed frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation, stating that it appears the matter has been sidelined. “It is critical that the CID director updates the public on the progress of the investigation and indicate with justification whether additional time is required,” he said.
A Plus threatened to take action if no update is provided within 48 hours. He vowed to invoke his authority as a Member of Parliament to formally summon the Ghana Police Service to brief Parliament on the case.
The murder of Ahmed Suale sent shockwaves across the country, with many calling for justice. Suale was a renowned investigative journalist who worked with Tiger Eye PI.
A Plus’s demand for updates on the investigation is not the first time he has spoken out on the matter. His latest threat to summon the police and reveal what he knows about the case has generated buzz online.
The Ghana Police Service has previously faced criticism for its handling of high-profile cases, including the murder of Ahmed Suale.
A Plus’s move to use his authority as a Member of Parliament to summon the police is seen as a bold step. The nation waits with bated breath for updates on the investigation.
