A manhunt is underway in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region for two suspected armed robbers who escaped with over 30 pounds of gold, GH¢11,000 in cash, and other valuables.
The suspects, along with two accomplices, attacked community mining workers returning home from work at Manso Watreso, seizing their valuables and pickup truck keys.
In a dramatic turn of events, the two accomplices were apprehended and lynched by irate community members after an alarm was raised. However, the other two suspects managed to escape with the stolen items.
According to the Assembly Member for the Manso Watreso Electoral Area, Kofi Mensah, the incident was reported to the police, who have deposited the bodies of the deceased at the morgue and launched an investigation into the matter.
