President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Hon. Sylvester Adinam Mensah as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM).
In his new role, Hon. Mensah will lead GEXIM’s efforts to support the Government of Ghana’s quest for a sustainable export-led economy, as outlined in the Ghana Export-Import Bank Act 2016 (Act 991).
With over two decades of experience in finance, governance, and strategic management, Hon. Mensah is well-equipped to drive GEXIM’s mandate. His expertise includes public sector banking, fund management, and strategic financial management.
Hon. Mensah has had a distinguished career, serving as a Member of Parliament, Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), and senior banker. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consulting (FIBC), UK, and a Certified Strategy Professional.
As Acting CEO of GEXIM, Hon. Mensah will focus on facilitating the transformation of Ghana’s economy into an export-led one. This involves supporting and developing trade between Ghana and other countries, overseas investments by Ghanaian companies, and eliminating critical market failures in the Ghanaian economy.
The appointment of Hon. Mensah is expected to bring significant benefits to GEXIM and the Ghanaian economy as a whole.
