In a significant development, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive and added him to its wanted list.
At a press briefing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng revealed that Ofori-Atta had consistently ignored invitations to answer questions related to ongoing investigations in which he is a suspect.
“Consequently, the OSP declares Ken Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta a wanted person. He is a fugitive from the law,” Agyebeng announced.
The OSP emphasized its commitment to taking all necessary measures to ensure Ofori-Atta’s return to face questioning.
Agyebeng noted that Ofori-Atta’s legal team had informed the OSP that he was indefinitely out of the country for medical reasons. However, the OSP appears skeptical about this claim.
This development marks a new chapter in the legal challenges facing Ofori-Atta, as the OSP intensifies its efforts to hold him accountable.
