In a strategic move to enhance national security operations, President John Dramani Mahama has assigned additional responsibilities to the Minister for Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka.
As the new Acting National Security Minister, Muntaka will oversee national security operations in tandem with his existing duties as Interior Minister.
This consolidation of roles is aimed at fostering greater coordination and efficiency within the country’s security framework.
The decision, made in accordance with Section 24 of the Securities and Intelligence Act 2020 (Act 1030), reflects President Mahama’s commitment to a lean and efficient government.
Earlier, the president had dissolved several sectoral ministries, streamlining the government’s structure to better address emerging security challenges and ensure public safety.
