The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a final reminder to individuals holding Diplomatic and Service Passports issued during the previous administration to surrender them by March 17, 2025.
The recall is in line with a directive from the Office of the President, which was publicly announced on January 15, 2025. According to the Ministry, a total of 404 Diplomatic Passports and 387 Service Passports remain outstanding.
The affected categories include former government officials, judicial officers, diplomatic representatives, business leaders, and other individuals who no longer meet the eligibility criteria for official passports.
The Ministry has warned that failure to surrender these passports by the deadline will result in cancellation and placement on the Stop-Watch List for seizure at any of Ghana’s entry and exit points.
Individuals required to surrender their passports are advised to submit them to the Legal and Treaties Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the stipulated deadline.
