The government has debunked rumors of a freeze on public sector employment, assuring that recruitment will continue in key sectors.
Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, in an interview with Channel One TV, described reports of a hiring halt as “unfounded.” He emphasized that job opportunities in the public sector remain open, based on economic needs.
“There is no freeze on employment,” Dr. Forson stated, addressing concerns about limited job openings in the public sector.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to job creation, particularly for the youth, and improving employment conditions across various sectors. This commitment extends to sustaining essential public services, ensuring critical sectors like health and education receive necessary personnel.
The clarification comes as the government implements its broader economic strategy aimed at strengthening Ghana’s workforce and promoting sustainable growth.
