The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament (MP), Sarah Adwoa Safo, to its National Disciplinary Committee for breaching party directives.
Adwoa Safo’s recent media comments on the party’s 2024 electoral defeat sparked the disciplinary action. The NPP had earlier cautioned members against making public statements that could create divisions within the party.
NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong stated that Adwoa Safo’s actions defied the party’s directives and undermined efforts to rebuild.
The party’s constitution, specifically Article 3(5), emphasizes the importance of promoting and defending the party’s good name. Adwoa Safo’s failure to adhere to this principle has led to her referral to the disciplinary committee.
“As a former Member of Parliament, Former Deputy Majority Leader, and Former Minister of State, she was expected to set a good example and adhere to the principles of discipline, loyalty, and unity,” Frimpong said.
The National Disciplinary Committee will review Adwoa Safo’s case and determine the appropriate course of action.
