A visit by President John Dramani Mahama to the Central Business District of Adum in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, brought hope to traders affected by a devastating fire that destroyed hundreds of shops.
The fire, which broke out on Friday, March 21, left a trail of destruction, with traders struggling to come to terms with their losses. However, Mahama’s visit offered a beacon of hope, as he pledged his support to help them rebuild their livelihoods.
Mahama interacted with the traders, listening to their concerns and offering words of encouragement. He emphasized the need for swift action to assist those who have lost their livelihoods and called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.
“But he also cautioned the traders not to cook in the market as the use of cylinders were a contributing factor to the incident,” Mahama said.
As Mahama toured the affected area, he was met with gratitude and cheers from the traders, who appreciated his commitment to supporting them in their time of need.
