Dr. Dominic Ayine, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has launched a scathing rebuke against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, dismissing allegations of misconduct by National Security operatives during a search at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison.
At a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine described Afenyo-Markin’s claims as “nothing short of defamation” and an “affront to the integrity” of the security services.
He challenged Afenyo-Markin to provide evidence to support his allegations, warning, “If Afenyo-Markin is daring me, I will make that recording available, so he should resist maligning law enforcement officers who are conducting investigations, and myself for the work we are doing.”
Dr. Ayine emphasized that the investigation was conducted in accordance with the law and with the utmost respect for the rights of all individuals involved.
He assured the public that his office would continue to uphold the principles of justice and transparency, despite attempts to discredit their efforts.
Dr. Ayine also stated that Afenyo-Markin’s allegations were an “insult to the security service.”
