As Ghana pushes forward with its ambitious 24-hour economy initiative, the government is taking steps to ensure that security keeps pace with the growing demands of a round-the-clock business environment.
Minister for the Interior Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has underscored the critical role of law enforcement in supporting this key policy initiative.
Speaking at a meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Police Service, Muntaka Mubarak emphasized, “The aim of this Secretariat is to implement a robust and sustainable policing model that ensures security is guaranteed in both urban and rural areas. Activities do not cease, and neither can our vigilance.”
During the same meeting, Muntaka Mubarak further stressed that businesses adopting the 24-hour economy model will require robust security measures to protect their operations, employees, and assets.
“We are laying the groundwork for a system that is dynamic and responsive to the unique challenges posed by the 24-hour economy. As we embrace this new approach, the safety of businesses, citizens, and workers will be prioritised to ensure that every hour of the day is protected,” he stated.
The 24-hour economy initiative is a cornerstone of Ghana’s economic development strategy, aimed at stimulating growth, creating jobs, and enhancing service delivery.
By providing a secure foundation for businesses to operate, the government hopes to unlock the full potential of this initiative and drive sustainable economic growth.
