In a move aimed at upholding the country’s constitutional principles, President John Dramani Mahama has initiated the process to investigate allegations against Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.
The President’s action follows the submission of three petitions by concerned citizens, which were subsequently forwarded to the Council of State for further consideration.
According to a statement released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, the President remains committed to ensuring that the matter is handled in accordance with the provisions of Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution.
This development marks the beginning of a critical process that will determine the fate of the Chief Justice, and underscores the government’s dedication to transparency and accountability.
