
A joint operation by the Western Central Regional Police Command has resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals for their involvement in illegal mining activities along the Bonsa River.
The suspects, comprising 7 Ghanaians and 4 Chinese nationals, were apprehended on March 31, 2025, at two separate locations in Bonsa and Wassa Agona.
According to police reports, the arrests were made possible through sustained intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing the menace of illegal mining in the region.
The police have assured residents of the Western Central Region of their commitment to combating illegal mining and ensuring law and order.
The arrested individuals are currently in police custody and will be arraigned before the court to face justice.
