
Sam Pee Yalley, a seasoned diplomat and former Ghanaian High Commissioner to India, has passed away at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Yalley, who also served as the President of the NDC Professionals Forum, died on Sunday, with the cause of his sudden demise still unknown.
High-ranking members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have paid tribute to Yalley, including Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin. “I learnt with pain the passing of my brother and friend, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, an astute statesman and respected member of our party, the National Democratic Congress,” Bagbin wrote on his Facebook page.
Yalley’s career was marked by his commitment to public service. He previously served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority before being appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to India by President John Mahama in 2014. Yalley was also a champion of female leadership in Ghana and played a key role in promoting women’s empowerment.
Yalley’s passing has left a void in Ghana’s diplomatic and political landscape. His dedication to public service, diplomacy, and advocacy will be remembered by many. Tributes continue to pour in, celebrating his life and achievements.
