
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended a suspect in connection with the gruesome murder of Dorothy Owusu Annor, a 23-year-old woman whose body was found with multiple stab wounds.
Robert Kwabena Boamah, 34, was arrested at his hideout in Namong, near Offinso, on Wednesday, April 23.
According to police, the investigation led to the suspect after an abandoned Opel Astra taxi, registered to Boamah, was found at the crime scene near the Mighty Jesus Educational Complex at Dominase. The body was discovered on Monday, April 21, prompting a swift police response.
Boamah reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. He also admitted to attempting to take his own life by ingesting a bottle of weedicide, which led to his treatment at the Abuakwa Polyclinic.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned before court soon to face charges. The police have assured the public of their commitment to fighting violent crime and ensuring justice for victims.
