
Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is recovering well after a period of medical attention and rest, President John Dramani Mahama has reassured the public.
Speaking at the launch of the nationwide sanitary pad distribution initiative on April 24, 2025, President Mahama provided an update on the Vice President’s health status.
He said Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was recuperating and catching up on rest, but would soon join the administration to continue prosecuting the “reset agenda.”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang took ill on March 28, 2025, and was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for medical evaluation.
Following treatment, she commenced a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025, to focus on her recovery.
The Vice President’s anticipated return to active duty is seen as critical to the implementation of key policies under the administration’s agenda. President Mahama conveyed her greetings to the public, assuring them of her good health and imminent return.
