
The recent tidal waves that ravaged communities in Ketu South have sparked an outpouring of generosity from individuals and organizations.
Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Governs Agbodza led the charge with a substantial donation of essential items, including 250 bags of 25kg rice, 50 boxes of oil, and 1000 bags of sachet water.
Business magnate Ibrahim Mahama also made a significant contribution of GHS100,000, demonstrating his commitment to supporting those affected by the disaster.
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) provided additional relief items to ensure the basic needs of displaced residents are met.
During a visit to Agavedzi, President John Dramani Mahama announced that the Volta Caucus MPs had collectively donated GHS100,000 to aid in the relief efforts. A private lawyer also contributed GHS10,000 to support the ongoing recovery operations.
President Mahama assured the victims that their MP and Minister for Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, would oversee the distribution of the donated items upon her return.
The community’s resilience and determination to rebuild were palpable, and the outpouring of support serves as a testament to the nation’s commitment to standing together in times of need.
