The government has moved to set the record straight on the number of presidential staffers appointed by President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the president has appointed a total of 30 individuals to serve as presidential staffers and aides.
This clarification comes amidst claims that the president had exceeded his promised limit of 60 ministers and appointed over 100 staffers at the presidency.
Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that all appointed presidential staffers had been publicly announced, ensuring transparency and accountability.
The minister explained that the 30 individuals include 27 presidential staffers and three directors who will assist with specific interventions.
The government’s clarification is seen as an effort to address concerns over the size and composition of the presidential staff, and to demonstrate its commitment to transparency and good governance.
