
Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has issued a statement thanking Ghanaians and the international community for their support during his tenure.
In the statement, Dr. Dampare expressed his appreciation to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing him as IGP, as well as President John Dramani Mahama for their cordial working relationship.
The former IGP also acknowledged the support of various groups, including religious and traditional leaders, sister security agencies, civil society organizations, and the international community.
Dr. Dampare reflected on his 35-year career in the Ghana Police Service, rising from a General Constable to become the youngest Commissioner of Police and IGP in the Fourth Republic.
Despite his recent dismissal, Dr. Dampare reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana, stating that he remains dedicated to serving his country with honor and integrity.
