President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed pride in his administration’s accomplishments, citing transformative policies in education, health, industry, infrastructure, and agriculture.
Speaking at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Bicentennial Anniversary launch, Akufo-Addo attributed his government’s progress to divine guidance and the support of the Ghanaian people.
Despite facing criticism for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections, Akufo-Addo remains confident that posterity will judge his government’s performance favorably. He believes that future generations will recognize the strong foundation his administration laid for progress and prosperity.
Akufo-Addo’s administration has implemented various initiatives, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which has benefited over 1.6 million young people.² The government has also made significant investments in healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development.
The President acknowledged the vital role of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in supporting his administration. He expressed gratitude for the church’s prayers, encouragement, and partnership in his government’s vision for national transformation.
Akufo-Addo’s comments come at a time when his administration is facing scrutiny for its performance. Some analysts have blamed him for the NPP’s defeat, citing unpopular decisions made by his government.
