The official draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 has been announced, setting the stage for a thrilling tournament.
The 24 participating teams have been divided into six groups, ensuring exciting matchups from the outset.
The Groups:
Group A: Morocco, Comoros, Zambia, Mali
Group B: Zimbabwe, Angola, South Africa, Egypt
Group C: Tanzania, Uganda, Tunisia, Nigeria
Group D: Botswana, Benin, DR Congo, Senegal
Group E: Sudan, Equatorial Guinea, Burkina Faso, Algeria
Group F: Mozambique, Gabon, Cameroon, Ivory Coast
Tournament Schedule:
The AFCON 2025 tournament will kick off on Sunday, December 21, 2025, with the opening match featuring Morocco. The final match is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Competition Format:
This year’s competition promises to be an exciting one, with nine stadiums across Morocco hosting the matches.
Notably, teams will no longer play two matches in the same day on the same pitch, ensuring a more relaxed schedule for players. Each team will have its own base camp and training ground, totaling 24 facilities.
Title Contenders:
Defending champions Ivory Coast will face a tough challenge in Group F, alongside Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique.
Other top contenders, including Egypt, Algeria, Senegal, and Nigeria, will also be vying for the top spot.
