The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made a significant move to bolster the Black Stars’ chances of success with the appointment of renowned German tactician, Winfried Anton Schafer, as Technical Advisor and Director of Football.
Schafer, who boasts an impressive managerial career spanning over 40 years, will work closely with Head Coach Otto Addo to build a formidable Black Stars team. His wealth of experience, which includes winning the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon in 2002, is expected to bring a new level of expertise to the team.
Throughout his illustrious career, Schafer has managed several national teams, including Cameroon, Thailand, and Jamaica, as well as European clubs such as Borussia Monchengladbach, Karlsruher SC, VFB Stuttgart, and Borussia Berlin.
The GFA’s decision to appoint Schafer is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical bench and enhance their performance on the international stage.
