Member of Parliament for Aowin, Oscar Fosu Larbi, has vehemently denied allegations of involvement in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, levelled against him by the chiefs and elders of the area.
Speaking to media, described the accusations as baseless and politically motivated, stating: “What they are saying is bluntly not true. It is false. It is a calculated attempt to tarnish my image.”
The MP challenged claims that he brought illegal miners from the northern part of the country into Aowin, explaining that the individuals in question were actually members of his political party introduced to an anti-galamsey task force by the same traditional authorities.
Larbi emphasized: “The northerners the traditional authorities are claiming I have brought to come and do illegal mining, after this report, I will be vindicated… these groups are party members and they were introduced to this task force of illegal mining by the same traditional authorities.”
