A devastating attack on a bus in Walewale has left two passengers dead and a bus completely destroyed.
The vehicle, traveling from Kumasi to Garu, was ambushed by gunmen after stopping near the ADB Bank in Walewale.
Authorities suspect the attack is linked to the ongoing Chieftaincy conflict in Bawku.
This incident follows a similar attack on February 11, 2025, which claimed the lives of three passengers and destroyed their bus near Wulugu on the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway.
Tensions in the region continued to escalate with a gun battle in Bawku on February 12, resulting in three more fatalities.
The conflict, which resurfaced in October 2024, has now claimed a total of 54 lives.
